Prohibition of Ragging:
Ragging is strictly prohibited in this institution as per the Government order. Names of those indulging in ragging will be instantly removed from the roll, and further action will be taken as per Government Order. Ragging means any conduct, whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating, or handling with rudeness of any other student; indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities that cause or likely to cause annoyance, hardship, or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student; or asking the students to do any act or perform something that such student will not in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student.
An anti-ragging committee has been constituted to curb the menace of ragging. This committee monitors and preserves a culture of a ragging-free environment in the college premises. Students can place their grievances in the complaint box without revealing their name or identity. They can also mail or text the problems they face or come across on and off the campus.

The purpose of the course is to bring in career skills and to enhance the subject knowledge of the students. This Common Value Added Courses are open to Second and Third Year students. This Course is conducted as an Intra-Department programme. This program will run parallel to the conventional degrees. At the end of year, the students will have special examination on their C-VAC subject.
Overview
The Research and Development Cell of Nandha Arts and Science College is established to promote Research Activities. The Cell will monitor and administer Research Programmes offered by Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. Research and Development Cell will monitor and evaluate the Candidates admitted for Research Programmes in all the departments of the Institution.
The College has a well-deserved reputation of Excellence in Post Graduate Teaching and Research for more than 2 decades. The College has 8 Research Centers, in which faculty members and students from various institutions besides the faculty and students from our college, who are interested in enhancing their qualifications in their Discipline. Admission Procedure
Commencement of Admission for each academic year will be announced on the official website. The college follows inclusive admission process, empowering the young minds to pursue their dreams regardless of their socio-economic, cultural, or educational upbringing. All UG and PG programs strictly comply with the guidelines set by the Government of Tamil Nadu and Bharathiar University.

- The candidates can use the online portal for enquiring details, applying, making admissions, submitting soft copies of certificates, and paying the fee.
On-Campus Admission:
- Eligible candidates can obtain the application form from the Administrative Office.
- Completed application forms, along with required documents and application fees, must be submitted by the specified deadline.
Eligibility Criteria:
- All candidates must satisfy the eligibility conditions outlined by Bharathiar University to qualify for admission.
- Undergraduate Programmes: Candidates must have completed higher secondary education with the required subjects and minimum marks as specified by the college/university.
- Postgraduate Programmes: Candidates should hold a relevant undergraduate degree with the necessary academic performance as specified by the college/university.
- Admission for Ph.D., Programmes: D., admissions are done as per Bharathiar University Regulations.

- A candidate will be permitted to appear for the end Semester Examinations provided he/she has a minimum of 75% attendance. If his/her attendance is between 65% and 74%, he/she will have to apply for condonation of the shortage of attendance. However, the Principal may condone the lack of attendance of those candidates on certain grounds-medical grounds, major calamity, accident which demands a long rest and permit them to write the end Semester Examination after payment of a prescribed fee. If a candidate does not fulfill the limit prescribed for condonation of attendance, he/she will not be permitted to appear for the End Semester Examinations.
- Those candidates, who could not write the End Semester examinations in any semester, can continue their studies in the subsequent semester. However, the candidate with less than 50% of attendance in any semester will not be allowed to continue his/her study in the subsequent semester and he/she will be permitted to re-join the semester in which the attendance is less than 50% and continue the course.
- Deficiency of the attendance in one semester shall be compensated in the subsequent semester such that the combined attendance of those two semesters will be taken into account for determining the eligibility of a candidate to be permitted to appear for the end Semester Examinations.
- A candidate will be given only one opportunity to carry forward the deficiency in attendance of one semester during the Degree course, failing which he/she has to re-do the course with the permission of the University.
Restrictions to appear for the Examinations
- Any candidate having arrear papers shall have the option to appear for the arrear papers along with the regular semester papers.
Submission of Record Note Books / Reports
- Candidates should submit bonafide Record Note Books for Practical Examinations and relevant reports for Projects / Internships / Field Visits. The student can be allowed for Practical Examinations foregoing the record marks if there is any valid reason.
Continuous Internal Assessment [CIA]
- For computation of CIA marks, the components considered are: (i) Tests (ii) Seminar / Assignment / Debate (iii) Model Examination.
- Normally, for each theory paper, 25% of mark is allotted for CIA and for each practical paper 40% of mark is allotted for CIA. The above marks may be changed as prescribed by the respective Boards of Studies and approved by the Academic Council.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT (TEACHING AND NON-TEACHING FACULTY MEMBERS
A. GENERAL
- College working hours – 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
- All the faculty members have to mark the attendance twice a day (Before 9.30 a. m. in morning and 4.30 p. m. onwards in evening)
- All staff members have to be in the College during working hours and follow the proper dress code.
- Faculty has to handle the theory, laboratory and other classes.
- University Examination Work is mandatory for all Faculty.
- The appointment can be terminated with three calendar month’s notice or payment of three month’s pay in lieu of notice period. Notice period must be co-terminus with the End of Semester.
- The promotion to higher cadre depends on Experience, Teaching, Research and satisfactory academic activities in the college.
- P.F. Contribution benefit to staff are being made regularly to the eligible Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff.
- Faculty is eligible for 12 days of CL per year in addition to government holidays.
- Faculty has to take leave with prior sanction from the HOD and Principal with proper alternate arrangement.
- Leave can be informed over phone only in case of emergency.
- Staff members can avail one hour permission twice a month. However such a facility is to be used only for essential needs.
- A female faculty can avail 1 year of maternity leave.
- The faculty members have to abide by the rules and regulations of the institutions framed from time to time for the effective functioning of the college.
B. CODE OF CONDUCT
- The staff members shall not engage themselves either directly or indirectly in conduct of any business, trade, running of educational institution, part time job in any other institution/organizations.
- The staff members shall not involve themselves in activities not related to their work during working hours.
- The faculty members shall not engage in private tuition.
- Staff members are encouraged to take up consultancy projects however, with the knowledge of the Management.
- The staff members are prohibited from accepting valuable gifts in any form from the students / parents / companies having business transactions with the college.
- The staff members shall not interfere in any matter not connected to their job requirement.
- The details of student feedback forms and performance appraisal reports given by the superiors shall be treated as confidential.
- All correspondence to the Management has to be routed through proper channel.
- All faculties should take part actively in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
- Faculty has to take active participation in conducting value added courses to the students to enhance their employability.
- Faculty should continuously update their knowledge by attending Seminars / Workshops etc., and using library.
- Each teaching staff with experience of more than 3 years has to publish at least one technical paper per year.
C. VACATION
- Teaching staff are normally eligible for four weeks of vacation per year and Non-teaching staff are normally eligible for two weeks of vacation per year.
- The Principal has the right to prevent any staff members from availing a portions or the whole of vacation if the services of the particular faculty is considered essential.
- Staff members who have completed 3 years (Nandha) of services as on date of commencement of the vacation period are entitled for vacation.
- No leave can be combined with the vacation. The staff has to present on the last working day prior to the vacation and also on the first working day after the vacation to become eligible to draw the vacation salary.
- Personal ODs will not be adjusted during the vacation in general. However Principal may permit based on genuine needs.
