Our Department successfully running an Association named GENESIS, which is a forum where students are encouraged to exhibit their maximum talents in co-curricular activities like Debate, Biocartoons, Bio-Quiz, Paper presentation, Seminars, Group Discussion and Aptitude tests, etc. at regular intervals. Through these activities, the students get confidence to face the expert panel while attending an interview. Eminent personalities in the field of biological sciences are invited to deliver guest lecture regularly for the benefit of students.

  • A webinar on “21st Century Skills for Employability” by Dr. ISAAC DEVAKUMAR, Head, International Department of Mathematics, Great Wall High School, Beijing, China, and Dr. JORDAN WOLFF, Head, International Department of English, Chicago Hope Academy, USA on 12.06.2021.
  • The webinar entitled “Antigen Processing and Presentation”, delivered by Dr. MITESH DWIVEDI, Assistant Professor, C.G Bhakta Institute of Biotechnology, Uka Tarsadia University, Surat, Gujarat on 29.09.2021.
  • Alumni lecture by Dr. ASHOK ARASU (2011-2013 Batch) Postdoctoral fellow, Department of Molecular Cell Biology, Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel delivered a motivational talk on “Towards Research” to our PG students on 20.12.2021.
  • The Eco Club (2021-22 Academic Year) was inaugurated on 03.12.2021 by Dr.S.KALIAMOORTHY, Scientist-E, Botanical Survey of India, National Orchidarium & Experimental Garden, Yercaud, Salem, Tamil Nadu, India and given a guest lecture on “Ex situ conservation of plant genetic resources – Role of NOEG, BSI, Yercaud” on 03.12.2021.
  • A guest lecture on “Tissue Culture Industry: Current Status, Opportunities and Challenges”, delivered by Dr. SIVALINGAM ELAYABALAN, Associate Professor & Head, Dept. of Crop Improvement, Imayam Institute of Agriculture and Technology, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Trichy, Tamil Nadu on 11.03.2022.
  • Organized a one-day International Conference on “FRONTIERS IN BIOTECHNOLOGY 2022” on 13th May 2022 by Dr. RAMESH N, Assistant Professor, Young Scientist-DST SERB, National Joint Coordinator-IIMAR Antibiotic Resistance and Phage Therapy Lab, Department of Biomedical Sciences, School of Biosciences and Technology, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu and Dr.ANBURAJAN PARTHIBAN, Research Professor, Department of Environmental Engineering, Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Seoul, South Korea.
  • Organizing a TWO days “Bioinformatics Workshop” for PG Students by Dr. GNANENDRA SHANMUGAM, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Biotechnology, Vivekanandha College of Arts and Science for Women, Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu on 22.09.2022 and 23.09.2022
  • GENESIS ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION and a Guest Lecture on “Nanotechnology-A human Perspective” by Dr. T. SELVANKUMAR, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Biotechnology, Mahendra Arts and Science College, Kalli Patti, Namakkal Dt., Tamil Nadu on 26th September 2022.
  • Our Department of Biotechnology along with Eco Club teamed on and jointly conducted a “PLASTIC ERADICATION CAMP” on 15.10.2022 at Sangagiri Fort (Monument under the Department of Archaeology).
  • Organized a one-day National Conference on “FRONTIERS IN BIOTECHNOLOGY 2023” on 24th February 2023 by Dr. S. SUDHAKAR, Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Manonmaniam Sundharanar University, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.
