About the Department

The Department offers PG Course. It has a well equipped laboratory. Physics Department was
established in the year 2005 and since then it has been racing towards success under the headship of
Prof.S.Palaniappan, former Principal, Erode Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Erode with 4
dedicated faculty members. All the out gone students have been placed well.
The seminar on “MATLAB” was channeled by Mr. Harish Pandiya, Asst. Prof. of Physics, Chikkanna
Govt. Arts College, Tirupur on 28th Sep 2010.
Ms.R.Savitha of II M.Sc., Physics participated in Tamil Poem Writing contest in Youth Festival, held
on 07/01/2011.
State Level Seminar was conducted on 07/02/2011.
Dr. S.Balasundara Prabu, Asst.Prof. of Physics, P.S.G.College of Technology,Coimbatore delivered a
lecture on “Bio-Materials and its Applications”.
Dr.M.Dharani, Associate Prof. of Physics, Kongunadu Arts and Science College(Autonomous),
Coimbatore presented a lecture on “Scope of Research in Nuclear Physics”.
Dr.C.Sudharsan, Asst.Prof. of Physics, P.S.G. College of Technology, Coimbatore consigned a lecture
on “Introduction to Quantum Mechanics”.
Ms.K.Nagarathinam of I M.Sc.,Physics presented a Paper on “Nuclear Physics” in the State Level
Seminar on 07/02/2011, conducted by the department.
I M.Sc., Physics students exhibited their models in Innovation Day, conducted by Nandha Educational
Institutions from 28/01/2011 to 30/01/2011.

A pass in B.Sc. Physics / B.Sc. Physics (CA)

Lab Facilities

Physics lab is well equipped with all the required facilities which a student need through his / her academic year. 
Lab is open throughout the college hours, which makes it easy for students to access
it anytime.  Also there is internet facility which can be made best by the students when they are in need
to gain more knowledge.

MAT Lab :- The most important part is MATLAB.  MATLAB which is applicable not only in the field
of physics, but also it provides better scope to obtain jobs such as designing, graphics, etc.
